Linkin has three best friends. They couldn't be more different than him: Joey is a free spirit who never ties his shoes and loves to draw on everything. Sadie never wears matching colours and has older siblings. Amelia matches all the time but has no idea what she wants to be when she grows up. Linkin has his own sense of style including his hearing aids and loves playing sports more than anything. But even though they're all so different from each other, they're still best friends.
Shannon Boughen had a dream to write a children’s book. Growing up in a small town, Goderich, Ontario allowed her to create many strong friendships. Shannon believes friendship is accepting people’s differences, and supporting one another to help strengthen our weak spots. She feels life is about having fun, enjoying friends and family, and dreaming big!

A Pawfully Perfect Puppy for Emily is a heart warming story about a young girl, Emily, when asked what she wanted as a gift for completing grade two quickly shouted.
“A PUPPY! A PUPPY! My three others pets need a friend.” But there was, however, another much more important reason she had in mind. Maybe a puppy would change the 'no pets allowed in the house rule'.
Over her mother's objection, the family ended up at Delbert Kennels where Emily found the cutest ball of fluff with big floppy ears, the runt of the litter trying to attract her attention frolicking on top of his sleeping siblings.
When Emily picked the puppy up and said “I want this one!” there was a meeting of two hearts no one could explain.
With great ceremony back at the Emily's playhouse the puppy was given the name Ralph. His loves and licks helped Emily deal with a great many issues with her mother's depression. He was a great comfort to Emily. But he was always up for fun and adventure and got himself into trouble with his new found friends more than once.
In addition to being a sweet story about a girl and her puppy, this book sparks a broader discussion about depression and mental health. Important topics to introduce to young readers especially children who may have a parent suffering from depression.
And yes indeed Ralph was not only allowed in the house but was even helped Emily's mother deal with her depression.
